Studios across Sumo Group have unveiled exciting updates on their latest games this week to coincide with the popular Gamescom event in Cologne, Germany.
Bristol-based studio Auroch Digital, announced they’re collaborating with the European Space Agency (ESA) on the development of the space management game Mars Horizon 2: The Search for Life. This follows the pair’s successful partnership on the first Mars Horizon game, where ESA staff provided valuable insight into the planning and operation of missions to Mars.
Sumo Leamington, who - during the ‘Into the Infinite: A Level Infinite Showcase’ – announced its debut title Stampede: Racing Royale which will be launching into early access via Steam on 2nd November 2023. Stampede: Racing Royale pits 60 players against one another across three-round eliminator events, culminating in a high-stakes finale to crown the winner.
Finally, The Chinese Room, the award-winning studio based in Brighton, provided a detailed insight into its upcoming narrative horror game Still Wakes the Deep with the ‘An Introduction to Worldbuilding’ documentary – in which senior leaders from the team discussed how the environment will evolve over time as well as the key inspirations behind the game’s horror.
Still Wakes the Deep is due to be released in 2024 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.
All three titles will be published by Secret Mode, Sumo Group’s publishing division.
